Just wanted to pass along some information that I thought some of you might find to be very helpful in your garden.
A few years ago, my wife and I were taking classes through the University of Washington State to become certified Master Gardeners. The program had taken a major surprise in its own test garden when suddenly many things would not grow, or they just outright died. So, long story as short as I can make it, after a lot of testing they tracked it down to their homemade compost, it was contaminated. Continue reading
Review of the Omni hotel in Asheville N.C.
We stayed for free because of my wife work as a chef she had been invited to the 2017 food show. Traveling from the low midland of South Carolina to the hill country of the Appalachians. We had been amazed by the many high-quality photos online and therefore had expected much. Sadly we both felt the urge to leave in less than an hour after checking in. It was not our cup of tea. A Blast from the Past.
Back before my wife and I got married in the late 80’s. I found myself involved in an “event” that made the local news.
I was surprised after all these years to find evidence of it on the internet. So I asked the American Forests magazine for permission to reprint this article on my blog.

The Homesteading Network, coming soon.
Kathy and I follow several Christian Homesteaders on Youtube and have done so for some time. A network around the country has been growing ever so slowly. It has now grown to the point that they are taking the next step in this growing society. Very shortly, as all the parts are getting worked out, they are going to launch, “The Homesteading Network.” It is happening on Sundays, with live feed on Youtube. Several channels will start banning together to provide quality viewing content. The hope is to cover all US time zones across America with quality content on a variety of issues. Continue reading
The Divided Mind of a Nation – Robert Foster.
I think it was Martin Luther King jr. Who said something to the effect of; “America has a schizophrenic personality.”
As time marches on and I grow older. I see more and more every day just how schizophrenic, not only America has become. But also the world.
There is now, hardly a subject out there that is not “powder keg” to someone. And to make it worse, it’s become obvious to many Americans that certain groups are working very hard to keep it that way.
If you’re a person who like to see that everything is getting better and better. Then much of the violence and actions of the world do not make sense to you.
If you are the type of person who see devils and angry monsters around every rock. Then everything dangerous and you feel the need to stockpile and hide everything for the end of the world. Continue reading
Preparedness: Becoming a Storehouse
Part 3 of a 3 part series by Robert Foster
I was raised on a farm, the youngest of seven children with a father who lived through the great depression in Arkansas. There were certain values he learned during those days that he Continue reading

Should a Christian store up food and supplies in preparation for the days ahead, or should we simply trust the Lord and not do anything for the welfare of our household?
Over the years, I’ve heard a variety of people offer their advice on this subject.
Many seem to have the idea that to store away any supplies shows a profound lack of faith and possibly some hidden sin causing you not to place your trust in the Lord.
While others take an opposite, extreme approach and build secret bunkers for the “end of the world,” while treating other people like the crazy uncle who never understands anything. Continue reading
