Waiting for the Sonrise, part two

Sonrisepart 2

In the past blogs, I have not really dived into the “nut & bolts” of the Carnivore diet. In truth, this diet is not really a diet, but its part detox and part a way of life. As we transition into the latter half of our second month of this all meat diet. We now have noticed not only the continual slow and steady weight loss but we are also seeing the larger health benefits.

To date, both my wife and I are reducing our home regiment of supplements as our health becomes more inline. I am down to about one-third of what I once took to manage my Thyroid and my wife’s high blood pressure is steadily falling in line with acceptable numbers. Continue reading

Carnivore Diet Update

Carnivore2

There have been a few questions, so I thought I would give an update. -RF
It’s been over a month and here are a few things that have happened and that we have learned.

• I’ve lost about 32 pounds.
• My wife has lost about 26 pounds.
• We both are living with less pain.

Q: What is included on this diet? Continue reading

Report: The Carnivore Diet

Carnavore

Note: Ok, so I had a bit of fun creating the above image. Not that I am saying I am a dinosaur or that we are eating dinosaurs. But after moving to Wyoming it seems every town has a museum for dinosaurs because it’s the farmers who sometimes find the bones in the fields.

I wanted to give a three-week report on a new diet we are trying. First of all, I am not going to be filling this simple report with many of the facts anyone can find on the internet. I will say there is a lot of growing support and facebook groups for eating this way. All I want to do in this simple report is simply just let people know what my wife and I have been discovering with this diet.

Food for Thought, Update, July 2018

Screen Shot 2018-07-14 at 2.03.02 PM

Hello everyone, It’s been a long time since I did a general update. The last one I did was from Nov of 2015 where I talked about my old web page, Whatcom County Prophetic Page. In that, I mentioned I would be adding various old prophetic words from America’s past as well as my hope to get into writing various other types of articles.

Well, some of that panned out, some of it did not.

Like I mentioned at that time Continue reading

A Little Light

If you have ever read the back cover of one of my books you will notice that I describe myself as a person who likes good food. This is something I fully accredit or blame on my wife the Foodie. Because of her ability to taste the finer points of food, I now find myself noticing the quality of products more and more. The long-term effect of this is, of course as I grow older is the unwelcome extra pounds that are now part of my life.

My wife has now had the experience of being a professional chef. Her finely honed food skills over the last few years have cooked for groups well over 500 people at times. And trust me, my waistline has only benefited from Chef Kathy’s growing skills. Continue reading

Bad Compost

Hay   Just wanted to pass along some information that I thought some of you might find to be very helpful in your garden.

A few years ago, my wife and I were taking classes through the University of Washington State to become certified Master Gardeners. The program had taken a major surprise in its own test garden when suddenly many things would not grow, or they just outright died. So, long story as short as I can make it, after a lot of testing they tracked it down to their homemade compost, it was contaminated. Continue reading

A Review, Not my Cup of Tea.

Review of the Omni hotel in Asheville N.C.
big

We stayed for free because of my wife work as a chef she had been invited to the 2017 food show. Traveling from the low midland of South Carolina to the hill country of the Appalachians. We had been amazed by the many high-quality photos online and therefore had expected much. Sadly we both felt the urge to leave in less than an hour after checking in. It was not our cup of tea. One Big Tree

the largest surviving American chestnuts left in the entire world

A Blast from the Past.

Back before my wife and I got married in the late 80’s. I found myself involved in an “event” that made the local news.

I was surprised after all these years to find evidence of it on the internet. So I asked the American Forests magazine for permission to reprint this article on my blog.

But first, here is a little background information; Continue reading

The Homesteading Network

The Homesteading Network, coming soon.

KHomesteadingGardenathy and I follow several Christian Homesteaders on Youtube and have done so for some time. A network around the country has been growing ever so slowly. It has now grown to the point that they are taking the next step in this growing society. Very shortly, as all the parts are getting worked out, they are going to launch, “The Homesteading Network.” It is happening on Sundays, with live feed on Youtube. Several channels will start banning together to provide quality viewing content. The hope is to cover all US time zones across America with quality content on a variety of issues. Continue reading
